  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

Tew Family Forum Search

Hi.

My family orginaly came from the Birmingham Area. I thought I would do a search on the "Tew" surname in the forum to see if the name had been mentioned in any posts or topics. However the search facility comes back with the message that the name is too short to use as a search term.

Any thoughts as to a way around this ?

Hi, try putting "Tew family" and it will find the thread you have started and several other posts.

I have tried that but it brings up post were the word family is used and my own. What i would have liked to find was any past posts or items which had the word Tew in them. There must be other three letter Surnames where this search limitation would be a problem. There must be a way around this as it is a valid search request.

Any comments would be appreciated.
 
i have just tried with no results so it could be that there no posts or threads regarding the tew family

It just seems to be a feature of Xenforo software which the forum uses.
I'm on an iPad at the moment but just tried tew+birminghamhistory site:birminghamhistory.co.uk in Google and it found all your posts on the BHF and some other items.
Perhaps you need to PM the BHF Admin team for a comment.
 
Get the same results searching this way on google on laptop. The first just links to "Famous people of biemingham" with many threads, so not much use, the second to a personal profile that does not mention Tew (as far as I can see) butb then there are:
