Hi Robert

I have this in my collection tagged as Olton Hall, I have no further information on it than that as it is most unusual for me to collect anything other than photos of Birmingham.

Phil's photo shows the house known as Olton Hall which was demolished in about the 1960's when Leafield Road was constructed. It was not visible from Lode Lane but could be seen from the footpath which ran from almost opposite Rodney Road to Elmdon Park (along the side of the fields which are now part of JLR). The pub known as Olton Hall is 100 yds or so further down Lode Lane towards Sheldon and has been there as long as I can remember (early '40s).

Thanks phil just what i was looking for. Juke box i didnt realise that the two buildings were so close to each other, bit of a cheek the brewery calling the pub the Olton Hall while the original was still there. devonjim no so much tongue in cheek as you may think, the reason for my asking is to link the pub and the train together. On the photos ive seen of the Olton Hall train i have been unable to see the shed badge. I know a lot of Castle class steam engines were from Tyseley do you know if Olton Hall was from there. Thaks Robert
