  • HI folks the server that hosts the site completely died including the Hdd's and backups.
    Luckily i create an offsite backup once a week! this has now been restored so we have lost a few days posts.
    im still fixing things at the moment so bear with me and im still working on all images 90% are fine the others im working on now
    we are now using a backup solution

This postcard is for sale in eBay. A nice company van and a worker (?) polishing the van. The company (probably aero engineers) was mentioned in Flight magazine in 1919 and were reported to be based in Summer Lane. Viv.

In the 1921 Kellys they are listed as Thompson, Osborne & Co. toolmakers , and shared 35a with two other firms. The map c 1950 shows 35 in red. I guess 35a was the building behind. Doesn't look terrifically big factory. Guessed the van was c 1950, and Kellys of that year gives:
Osborne, Thompson & Co. Limited, patentees & mfrs. of improved type of anti-friction collars for woodworking machines & engineers, 173 & 175 New Town row 6. Map showing this also below. Looks like they expanded a bit between those places
